Navistep’s internet connection is no longer working: the orange internet indicator LED goes out during tracking while the green LED remains on. What should I do?
Above all, do not switch off Navistep or try to change its internet connection, the tracking process continues to work normally and stores successive positions in the Navistep device. As soon as the internet connection works again, the missing online tracking data is uploaded automatically. If you switch off the Navistep device, tracking stops and there will be a gap in the sequence of tracking points sent and shared online.
Two examples of a deliberate or unintentional loss of internet connection. Deliberate: during a long passage, if you use Starlink, you may switch it off at night to save energy and restart it in the morning. If the Navistep device remained on overnight, your route will update automatically on the online tracking page and map as soon as the internet connection returns. Unintentional: while sailing along the coast using your smartphone’s internet hotspot, weak 4G or 5G coverage may temporarily interrupt the connection. The online tracking page and map will update automatically when the connection returns.

How to shut down and restart the Navistep device correctly.
A switch (not supplied) must be fitted to the Navistep device’s 12 V power supply. Never shut down the device directly with this 12 V switch. Use “Shut down Navistep” in the right-hand menu, or use the Stop button on the device. To shut down Navistep correctly, press and hold its Stop button for more than one second, then release it. After this long press, the LEDs remain lit for more than fifteen seconds before the device shuts down completely. Wait until all LEDs have gone out, then wait a further 20 seconds for the device to shut down completely. You may then turn off the 12 V power switch.
To restart the Navistep device, simply turn the same 12 V switch back on.
